Ramadan 2026 runs from roughly 17 February to 18 March, with Eid al-Fitr following around 20 March — all of it well before the Balearic sailing season, which realistically starts in late May and runs through September. So "chartering during Ramadan" isn't really how this works for Ibiza & Formentera. What we see instead is Gulf families using the month — a natural period for family gatherings and forward planning — to lock in dates for their summer trip.
Where the calendar actually lines up
Eid al-Adha is the one date worth building a trip around directly. In 2026 it falls around 27 May — right at the start of the Balearic season, early enough to beat the July-August crowds while the weather is already reliably warm. A charter timed to Eid al-Adha gets Formentera's beaches and Ibiza's quieter coves before peak season pricing and availability pressure kick in.
What to expect on board, regardless of dates
None of the following is a special accommodation — it's standard practice whenever the brief calls for it:
- Halal catering, briefed to the chef or catering team ahead of embarkation, the same way any dietary requirement is handled.
- A fully non-alcoholic bar for the charter's duration, set as the default rather than requested as an exception.
- Itineraries built around prayer times, with cabins or a deck area set aside as quiet space when flagged in advance.
- Family-paced days — Formentera in particular suits a slower rhythm than Ibiza's beach-club circuit, with calm anchorages at Illetes and Es Caló well suited to multi-generational groups.
Booking through an advisor or concierge desk
If you're arranging this on behalf of a Gulf client rather than travelling yourself, the brief should specify dietary requirements, prayer accommodations and group composition up front — that's what lets us return a matched shortlist instead of a generic one. Details on how we work with travel advisors and concierge desks placing GCC clients in the Balearics, and on ground logistics — private aviation coordination, transfers — are on our concierge page.
